Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully as you will be bound by them. A contract between you and Alnmouth Escapes Limited will come into existence on the date which you reserve a room with us and where necessary pay a deposit. We look forward to welcoming you to St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast.
Rates are per room, per night and include a freshly prepared cooked breakfast.
All bookings are subject to receiving valid card details for the duration of the stay. We will confirm your booking by email. Any bookings without a confirmation from St Valery Boutique B + B will not be seen as valid.
Cancellations
For any cancellations up to 30 days prior to the start of your stay there will be no further charge other than the 25% non-refundable deposit paid when you made the booking.
For cancellations, changes or curtailments within 30 days of the start of your stay, the full cost of the entire reservation will be due and we reserve the right to charge the card you used when making the booking accordingly. Whilst we will do our utmost to accommodate date changes, depending on the circumstances and notice given, date changes may be classed as cancellations or no shows.
You can manage your booking including paying the balance or making changes/cancellations online at: Manage my booking.
We’re sure you can understand that as a small B&B with only 3 rooms, any cancellations can represent a significant loss of revenue for us and so please do give as much notice as possible if you do need to cancel to allow us time to hopefully rebook the room.
We strongly advise you have appropriate travel insurance in place to cover unexpected events such as illnesses or travel distruption. If you dont have a suitable policy, we offer this through our partner Xcover which can be purchased at the time of making your reservation for an additional premium (typically less than 10%). For full terms and conditions, please visit our partners website at: https://www.xcover.com/en/pds/booking-refund-protection-travel
Check In / Check Out
Our standard check-in times are between 4pm and 6pm. If you wish to arrive before 4pm, we will do our best to arrange for your room to be ready or alternatively hold your luggage for you. The latest check-out time is 11am.
Bookings
We are unable to guarantee your booking without a valid debit or credit card.
Your deposit (and settling your bill on departure) may be made using credit/debit card or cash though we’re sorry to say we don’t accept personal cheques or travellers cheques. Cash deposits must also be accompanied by a valid debit or credit card.
We will take the details of your card and store them securely in line with PCI DSS standards. We are unable to guarantee your booking without a valid debit or credit card, and we reserve the right to cancel your reservation if you are unable to provide the details of a valid debit or credit card.
Confirmation of your booking will be sent by email.
Losses & Damages
Whilst accidents can happen, you agree that you will pay for any damages howsoever caused, by you or any of your party. We hope that any damages are brought to our attention first, but we reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card for any damages including those discovered immediately after your departure.
We also reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card for the loss of any items from your guest room during your stay and/or for any items which are discovered missing immediately after your departure.
Prices & Currency
Room rates shown on our website are per room, per night and include breakfast and any applicable taxes. Room rates are subject to change.
We charge all our rooms in GBP (£) and when making a booking online, you will be charged in this currency. Please be aware that your bank may collect additional charges if this is not your native currency.
Registration
We are required by law to maintain a register of our guests. Residents of the European Union shall on check-in provide full names and addresses. All other guests must on check-in produce and provide details of a valid passport and details of their next destination. You agree that we may retain this information for 12 months.
Smoking
In accordance with UK law, St Valery is a non-smoking establishment. There is a designated smoking area in the decked garden at the rear of the property.
Fireplaces & Burning Candles
St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast operates the use of real burning fires and burning candles, in the communal areas only. By definition therefore, naked flames exist. You agree never to interfere with any of our burning fires or burning candles, including the adding of any materials whatsoever to the fires. Only the owners or staff should tend the burning fires or burning candles. Basically we don’t want you to get burned.
Also, many of our guest rooms have fireplaces. Guest room fireplaces are purely ornamental. Under no circumstances must any naked flame or fire be started in the guest room, and you agree so not to do.
Honesty Bar
Please be honest about the honesty bar. Our Honesty Bar is there for your enjoyment, and all we ask is that you write down the drinks which you have taken. By making use of the honesty bar, you agree to be charged for the drinks taken, at the end of your stay. The honesty bar is strictly for over 18s only, and is for the sole use of resident guests. Being subject to Alcohol Licensing laws, it is locked shut at certain times.
Keys
On arrival, we entrust to you a set of keys for the duration of your stay. We would be very grateful if you would look after your keys as if they were your own. You agree not to copy these keys, nor allow them to be copied, and they remain the property of St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast at all times. Should they be lost or stolen you must inform the owner immediately. St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to guests’ belongings should any unauthorised person gain access because of lost or stolen keys. Your keys must be given up on request at any time.
On departure, you must return your set of keys to the staff of St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast. Non-returned keys after departure will be treated as lost or stolen keys. Lost or stolen keys would entail us having to change the locks. We reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card, with the costs of replacing keys, key fobs and any necessary locks, at the prevailing rate.
Unruly Behaviour
The owners, members of staff, fellow guests and visitors have the right to feel safe and unthreatened at St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast. We therefore cannot tolerate noisy or unruly behaviour, especially including behaviour which may be considered dangerous to life or property. For such behaviour, we reserve the right, without prior notice, to curtail your stay and ask that you leave the premises. No refunds will be given, nor can we pay costs, expenses or return travel fares for this curtailment.
Pets
Dogs are welcome in some rooms for an extra charge. Owners should ensure dogs are kept on a lead at all times in the communal areas and will be responsible for any damage caused during their stay. St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast reserves the right to charge for any damage caused by dogs being left unattended in the rooms, or may ask a dog be removed for the safety of fellow guests, visitors and staff. In such circumstances, no refund will be given.
Termination Policy
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to terminate without notice an individual’s stay at St Valery Boutique Bed + Breakfast where deemed necessary. In such circumstances, no refunds will be given.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England.
